he invited a second rank to stop prince hua probably. So he could kill the emperor himself.
But, you see, during the chapter where he died, the guy who said he wanted to recruit Wei when to the Buddhist base and borrowed some artifact. So we could guess that had something to do with him doing something to control Wei Yuan after he is dead. There is also the fact that his corpse disappeared.
I gotta admit though that it would be a great scene though. Xu Ningyan would get to meet his daddy one final time.. and probably also power up as a result to rank 2 as Wei Yuan shares some secret skill or knwoledge with him. Or maybe he even predicted he would be turned into a zombie by the emperor, and so he planned ahead to use that zombie body to train and power up Xu QIan.. lol
That would be such a great scene, I would 100% feel it in my heart, manly tears would likely flow just like it has many times in this great series already. Just like that market scene
